I had the pleasure of seeing the delayed Seattle Center Winter Solstice Fire Art Festival.
The festival had some serious fire art installations and three performance art stages for fire performers. They took over the International Fountain and had a stage on Fisher Pavilion and another one on the lawn for Buphalo's Fire Pod.
Pnuema - Charles Gadeken
Charles Gadeken came up from San Francisco to install Pnuema, a fire art flower he created specifically for this festival. Charlie Gadeken is one of the founders of Flaming Lotus Girls.
Ignition - Nine Fire Breathers at Once!
The closing show was by a fire art troupe called Ignition. Their sinature piece is doing a group fire art blow where nine fire performers blow fire at the same time. The crowd went wild.
Next year the Seattle Center hopes to amp this festival up to be much bigger, much more intriging. You can count on me displaying several fire art pieces in the festival as well. I hope the rest of you can make it. This will be truly interesting.
