Intercom Extension Prank
Just about every office has a PBX system set up that allows you to call your coworkers by dialing an extension. For instance, you can reach me at my office by dialing extension 69. I kid you not.
Of course, I am not always at my desk because I have time to waste at work, but there might be a call for me waiting at my extension. So some offices like mine have set up an intercom system to page me to let me know I have a phone call on extension 69. I kid you not.
In my office, you can use the intercom by dialing extension 88. That way if the receptionist has to track me down, she can just dial 88 and ask me to pick up extension 69.
One fun prank to pull on clueless people or new hires is to page them to pick up a call on extension 88. It's really simple. You just say, "hey Bob, there's a call holding for you on extension 88." Bob picks up the phone, dials 88 and says over the intercom, "This is Bob, how can I help you?" He realizes he's been had when his voice booms over the loudspeaker to the entire office.
