About Pyro Boy
Pyro Boy is also known as Wally Glenn, an artist currently living in Seattle. Wally is known for some pretty outlandish stunts. Pyro Boy is just the top of the barrel.
Wally Glenn started performing by doing stand-up comedy in 1989. In 1995 he transitioned into sketch comedy and was worked as a regular on 11:07. He was instrumental in forming OPM! and the Pork Filled Players.
In 1997, Wally branched out into fire as a performance medium. He started working with Maque DaVis and the Fremonsters Theatrical, an offshoot of the Fremont Arts Council. His first show was the Feast of Vulcanalia at BurningMan, 1997. He worked as a puppeteer with the Fire Puppets and his own performance piece where he rants about technology and smashes a laptop onstage.
In an effort to push the medium further, Wally developed the character Pyro Boy and has worked on refining it ever since.
Since leaving Cirque de Flambé in 2002, Pyro Boy has started working with new groups such as The Big Bang Group and continued working on shows at Burning Man.
